Mei-Tai (MT) is a type of a carrier which has its origins in Asia. Its construction is not a very complex one: a rectangular piece of cloth with four arms by means of which a child is fastened to a parent. The carrier has a kind of a headrest and a hood which perfectly holds the baby’s head while it is sleeping. It does not have any stift elements, therefore, it allows carrying a baby in a position which is natural for such a young, still developing spine.
Lenny Mei-Tai is dedicated for childer who can already sit on their own. However, if you are convinced and sure that you are able to hold the baby’s body tightly with the cloth, you can use it earlier - when a child already hold its head firmly (Mini size).
The carriers of this type are one of the favourites of the babywearing parents.
They are easy to use, often with rich embroidery they can also be a favourite element of a young mom’s and a remarkable dad’s attire. It turns out that very often a parent finds a MT carrier easier to use than a long woven wrap. It is also a great choice when we are just starting the babywearing adventure and our baby is already a bit older (8-15 months) and a bit heavier than a newborn infant (8-16 kg) - Toddler size. It is definitely better to carry such a child on your back which is easier to master with a MT.
Mei-Tai is a carrier in which we can carry our child in the front and on our back.
Why Lenny Mei-Tai?
Our carriers are designed with the highest precision. Their main advantage is the fabric they are made of. This is the fabric woven at custom order which is characterized by the great carrying capacity, thanks to which this carrier perfectly adjusts to and fits the baby’s body. The technology used for the production of this fabric is just the same as for the woven wraps - it is the fabric made of the highest quality yarn. The basic issue with adjusting a MT is the size of the panel - therefore we offer two sizes - Mini/standard and Toddler/Maxi.
Moreover, our fabric - light and breathable cotton or cotton/bamboo blend - tightly fits a body - just like a wrap. Because of this a little baby has it’s body in a healthy and safe position.
